How We Work
This Is How We Work
At Bunker Tattoo, we believe that the quality of our tattoos is what matters most. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to get a tiny tattoo on your wrist, a huge old-school back piece, or a portrait of your grandpa. Getting tattooed is not something you do every day. That’s why we want to make it a memorable experience for you. We won’t be happy until you walk out with a big smile on your face. The perfect tattoo starts with a good idea and a beautiful drawing.
Our experienced tattooers design every tattoo done here at Bunker Tattoo. You come up with a great idea (or bring an example), and we’ll hook you up with the tattooer that best matches your idea and the style you want. Check out our Inspiration page to see some of their work. We use nothing but the best materials and ink of the highest quality. And of course we always observe the highest standards of hygiene.
We’re extremely proud to have customers visit us from all over the world. This also means we have a waiting list. Each member of our team of talented tattooers has a different style and different drolleries, but they all share the same passion for ink.
Come on in, we don’t bite!
We welcome you to our shop for a personal intake. Our guys are always enthusiastic and will listen to your ideas with attention. Giving you the best possibilities and advice. Amongst lots of books, magazines and pictures for your inspiration, there is healthy food and drinks for you to enjoy. We take our time to discuss your idea and translate this into a great and unique design. We will talk about placement, sizes and styles and will set you up with the best tattooer for your needs.
Your appointment is set! On the day of your appointment, you and your tattooer sit down and discuss your idea in detail. He’ll then start translating your idea into a design. Depending on the complexity of your idea, it may take a while for him to show you your design. Lucky for you, waiting at Bunker Tattoo is never boring. There’s enough inspiration for you to enjoy yourself: board games, books, magazines, and food and drink. Occasionally, the crew will also provide some surprising entertainment. When the design is done, you discuss it with your tattooer. He’ll then make any necessary changes to the design. Once the design is perfect, we’re ready to put it on your body.
Once the drawing is exactly how you want it to be, we will transfer it to your skin. If you’re happy with the placement and size, we’re ready to start tattooing. Make sure you’ve had a good meal and enough rest before your appointment. The more energy you bring into a session, the more pleasant the experience will be. We always come prepared, so we ask you to do the same. We’re no factory workers; we believe in quality. That’s why we take our time throughout the whole experience. If we’re unable to finish your tattoo in time, it’s always for quality reasons. Tattooing simply can’t be rushed. It’s a creative process, and we believe time to be of secondary importance.
You’re done! Woohoo! Now that you’ve got that great piece of art on your skin, it’s time to talk about aftercare. This is a very important part of getting tattooed. The way you take care of it can make or break a tattoo. After tattooing, we’ll clean your tattoo and wrap it up in hygienic plastic wrap. One of us will explain how to take care of your tattoo to make sure it heals perfectly.
You should leave the wrap in place for about 3 hours. Then clean your tattoo with lukewarm water, apply a thin layer of ointment, and wrap it up again. Repeat every 4 hours for 2 days. It’s also very important to take good care of your body. Proper nutrition and good sleep work miracles. This way you’ll shorten the healing process and maximize the quality of your tattoo. Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight and avoid baths and saunas for at least two weeks. It’s okay to have a shower. After two weeks, your tattoo will be healed. Your skin might still be a little shiny. You’ll be able to see the actual result after a few months. Enjoy your new tattoo. We’ll see you back soon for your next one!
